Mess O’ String Blocks and Counting

Whenever I need to create something and don’t have an ongoing project, I go to my machine and scrap bin to make a couple more string blocks. I enjoy making them on a foundation, and these are what I have so far. But I have no plan for them. I don’t want to make even one more quilt, nor am I up to making anything else large. I thought of placemats and table toppers, but I’ve done many of those and interest wanes. I need someone to think outside the usual box. All other suggestions welcome, please!

Your colourful blocks are beautiful! It sounds like you had lots of fun making them 😁. How about a cube-shaped footstool or a wall hanging or some cushions or a tote bag? Well that's my brainstorm of ideas ...lol πŸ˜‰, I hope it helps. Sending you happy and creative wishes! J 😊 x

Curtains for your sewing room - with a lining so you don't see the seams? - ;))

Love these. That's a smart idea. You could make a quilted skirt or jacket after starting by sewing them together to make a piece of fabric. hugs-Erika

Hmm... I can't think of anything better than the things that have already been mentioned.
I hope you find a brilliant use for them.

Cut smaller as patches for a cool jacket, cut in smaller squares just to jumble it up a bit more-then make a long piece into a belt. You'd have to line it. Cut the pieces into bird shapes, then stuff and string them together. Cut into 'V' shapes like little bunting thingies-I can't remember the correct name for that-then string the v shape and hang around a room or draped in front of a window. You can always get those blank totes at JoAnn's and just sew the squares on the totes-they'd be nice presents and those totes are quite sturdy. Have fun-you've got a nice looking selection to work with. Let us know what you do!

These are beautiful and you have quite the build up. I was going to suggest a basket, but I think someone already suggested that.

I would probably make a wall hanging or screen. I would punch holes in each corner and insert eyelets, then tie them together with large (probably handmade) metal rings.

You could sew a house or teepee for your kitties. :) Or, how about a phone or ebook cover, Christmas ornaments or a bag?
